New Beginnings S.O.S. Mentoring Program “The Anointing is Easier Caught than Taught” All students are encouraged to have pre-read “God Came Suddenly and Divine Supernatural Encounters” In the past, many people have asked if we would consider mentoring them. Several times, we agreed and ventured out into the uncharted waters of the supernatural, each request touched the heart of God at a different level resulting with some form of His glorious grace (Isaiah 7:11). We want to make ourselves clear. Neither Karah nor I can make anyone a fivefold minister (Ephesians 4:11). (God alone gives Ministry Gifts, Callings and Offices). Individuals grow spiritually only by the grace of God. “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT HE ALWAYS GIVES HIS GRACE TO THE HUMBLE” (James 4:6-10). Together we have over 70 years of ministry experience, which the students will be able to draw from. We have drunk from the deep wells of living waters of many supernatural springs and have eaten of the hidden manna of many others (Revelation 2:17). The majority of these times we never counted the time or the financial cost, we just jumped in and went forward with all of our heart. “More Lord” became our constant prophetic prayer. If you have been trying to decide if it is the time for you to step out of your boat and walk on the supernatural waters of the prophetic, we highly recommend that you count the cost of mentoring both in the natural realm and in the spiritual realm before making a decision. God has entrusted everyone with time, treasure and talents, which is a powerful three–fold cord. Often a person over develops one of these three–fold cords and leaves the other two undone. A day will come when everyone will have to give an account for his or her time, treasure and talents. Our mentoring program is casual but concise, offering in depth prophetic revelation and insight throughout the bible. The foundational launching pad of our mentoring program is our own personal life experiences. COUNT THE COST INVOLVING YOUR TIME Remember your time is truly not 100% your time. Your job, your spouse and your children have a right to a portion of your time. The Bible warns us about being too hasty in making commitments. You need to be flexible as well as reasonable with your time. How much time are you willing to commit every week to drawing closer to God? The first thing you may want to consider as you draw closer to God is complying with (Habakkuk 2:2-3). We recommend that every participant write out his or her own vision to accomplish what God the Holy Spirit has placed within your heart. We pattern our mentoring program after Isaiah 28:10. “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” This lays a firm foundation before we began building the main structure. It is up to each participant to discover which of our three mentoring programs is best for them. Annually we offer three mentoring meetings. Each year the dates will change because the meetings are on Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles. We feel that the Lord will honor everyone who chooses to enter into a time of pressing in and growing on with Him. We know that there will be of a great benefit during your spiritual journey. All of our mentoring partners are encouraged to begin their own home cell group even if it consists of just one or two other persons or a couple. This will create an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to release the anointing of God that is within you to a greater level. Remember you cannot out do or out give God, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap ... he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:7-8). All those we mentor are to keep a spiritual journal (and use it on a daily basis). Journaling usually takes at least an hour a day that you should set aside in the morning or evening to do. You will also need a selection of different bible translations such as, KJV, NKJV, NLT or an Amplified, along with a Strong’s Bible Concordance and a bible dictionary. We personally use (PC Bible V5 bible software). It is up to each participant to choose what is best for them. We also recommend the NLT Bible as it is in our modern day language and is easy to comprehend. COUNT THE COST THIS INVOLVES YOUR TREASURE (TITHES AND OFFERINGS) We want to say up front that no level of mentoring will replace your local fellowship gatherings. Your tithe goes to where ever you are receiving your spiritual food. Your offerings consist of your giving over and above your tithe. Your offerings are what produce the blessing of God to come forth into your life. Moreover, some fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred fold return (Mark 4:8). COUNT THE COST INVOLVING YOUR TALENTS Your talents are anything that you have trained for in the natural realm but your main spiritual talent or talents will have to be uncovered or discovered as you walk the walk. The Apostle Paul told Timothy “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership” (1Timothy 4:14). The gifts and talents of God are already within you, they are just waiting to come forth. Whatever it is that God has placed within you is for the body of Christ. What we do at NBSOS is very similar to what a momma eagle does to her baby eagles. She forces the baby eagle out of the nest (out of their comfort zone); they have to learn to fly on their own, this why we insist that all of our mentoring partners begin a home group. A home group will help you step into a new level of accountability, which is similar to digging your very own spiritual water well. The apostle Paul said, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap...but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary” (Galatians 6:7-10). We have discovered whenever a person shares what the Lord has placed within them it helps create a solid foundation for future expansion. Every time you share with others the door of understanding will began to open to a greater degree, ushering in additional revelation from the Holy Spirit. The New Beginnings S.O.S. Mentoring Program – How it works First, we will send you a questionnaire. We want to know about your existing spiritual / scriptural foundation. We personally want to read your testimony. Because we teach by real life examples we intertwine scripture with personal events to help impart a foundation of “... wisdom, instruction and understanding” (Proverbs 23:23), our goal is to help bridge the 2000–year gap between the time Jesus walked the earth and today. DONALD AND KARAH BOTH PERSONALLY MENTOR We limit our mentoring to a small group settings normally limited to four people. Karah, my wife will mentor the women, I will mentor the men. Together we both will mentor men and women. It is clear that everyone has an open ticket with God. It is up to each individual to decide how far and how fast they want to go with God. How deep do you want your relationship with the Kingdom of God to go? How serious are you on wanting to grow spiritually? Remember gifts are given and fruit is grown. You cannot perfect what you are not willing to spend the time and effort to develop. To get a greater understanding of spiritual height, width and depth visualize an oak tree. What you see is only one-half of the tree’s true size. If the highest limb is thirty feet up in the air, the main taproot goes thirty feet down into the earth. If the branches of that oak tree extend thirty feet towards each side of the trunk the roots extend thirty feet outwards in all directions from the trees trunk. The greater the hidden foundation is, the greater the visual structure will be (Psalms 1:1-3). You will not enhance your spiritual growth if you do not study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman or a “Wordman” that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Timothy 2:15). We encourage all mentoring partners to develop their own new wine (Mark 2:22). It will not take long before a mentoring partner realizes that they are in a select group scripturally known as the faithful remnant (Judges 7:20). It is our desire at New Beginnings S.O.S. that all mentoring remain at a personal level. It is Donald and Karah’s belief that mentoring in the Gospel is an important method of growth and maturity in Christ. We believe that men know & understand the needs and cares of men best and therefore feel that the same applies for women as well in mentoring. Karah has been a minister for over 30 years. She has served in the Body of Christ as a Teacher and Minister of the Gospel in an Assembly of God Church and several United Methodist Churches as the Pastor.
